4 Resolutions: Mind, Body, Community, Planet

With the new year just starting, now is the perfect time to make new goals. One of the most effective ways of deciding on your resolutions is dividing them into four easy categories: mind, body, community, and planet. By creating a resolution for each of these four areas, you can go beyond basic personal growth and truly improve your mental state, your health, and your relationship with others.

Mind

Enhance your mind by learning a new skill. Instead of picking something that has minimal value, it may be even better to look for a skill that you can use to add positivity to the world. Try to think about your own interests to find something that appeals to you. If you love education, consider learning a new language to help you better connect with those around you. People who are interested in medicine may want to take first aid classes that teach CPR and the use of defibrillation machines. Meanwhile, those who are good at numbers could learn how to do taxes or those with a creative side could learn how to paint murals. Whatever you choose, remember that the key to successfully learning a new skill is simply practice. Make a resolution to spend a set amount of time each day or week learning your skill. Then once you feel more confident in it, schedule a time to use it to help others.

Body

Improving your own health makes it easier to assist others and remain engaged. Keep your body in good health with sensible eating and regular exercise. Add wholesome supplements like a cbd oil tincture or gummies when you need a healthy boost. Take your healthy activities to the next level by getting more people involved! You are more likely to feel rewarded by your health resolution when it is something that involves interacting with other people instead of just working by yourself to reach aesthetic goals. Consider starting a community walking club, organizing sports activities for local youths, or working with a gardening co-op.

Community

Giving your local community a little of your time can make it a much more pleasant place for everyone to live. Try to check out local websites for your area to learn about volunteer opportunities. You may be able to join programs like homeless outreach or youth activities. Those who do not already have a variety of volunteering choices can be proactive and start something themselves. To decide on something you can do for your community, take a look around. Once you have settled on something, gain permission from local government officials if necessary and start posting flyers or notices asking others to join. You may be surprised to find how quickly others get involved too.

Planet

Part of having a positive output in the world is making sure the planet is healthy too. Think of ways to cut back on waste and overconsumption. Use reusable containers instead of constantly disposing of zip lock bags and plastic wrap. Remember that you are more likely to help your planet when you get others involved. Those who have social media can start a movement by encouraging their followers to donate to green organizations or recommending tips for reusing and recycling items. You can also organize eco-friendly activities in person. Talk to your friends about cleaning up the local beach, or schedule a day to plant trees around your town.

These resolution suggestions can be a great way to get started on improving your life, but they are not the only options. Can you think of any other ways to upgrade your mind, body, community or planet?
